Where are your favorite characters now? 10, 20, 30 years after you fell in love with them for the first time?

Burlesque, circus, nerdery!

Did Angelica ever truly get over her narcissism?
Has Sally taken advantage of Jack’s bones?
What is Mario up to when he isn’t in the wrong castle?
Is it time for a “Behind the Music” with Jem?
And let’s not forget the highly questionable fanfiction!

All these questions and more will be answered as we shake, shimmy, and shatter your childhood dreams in this extravaganza of mecha proportions.

The City That Never Sleeps Must Never Get A Hangover This Goddamn Bad

The ticket in my hand says 6 & 1/2 AM
and my sleep deprived eyes scan the aisles
for seats near a window.
Okay good, there’s one over there.
I rest my head against the cool glass
as the first rays of morning stream into the bus.
It is six fucking thirty in the morning people.
I am on a bus to New York City with a girl
who has been my friend for years
(not a BFFL or best friend but a friend
I have been friends with much longer
than the friendship of other friends)
and she rests her head against my shoulder.
This is her adventure.
We’re off to see some people, meet some sights,
hang out in Central Park
like the hooligans we used to be.
Or I was anyway. I remember long days
and even longer nights
sitting in places one shouldn’t have sat
sipping things my underage mind
shouldn’t have sipped.
Those were the days, I think against the window
those are days I shall reclaim.
The bus rumbles down I-95
and I am barely alive, counting the trees
screaming along the sides of the highway.
I would trade many things for an extra hour of sleep
but I can’t keep myself from jarring awake
every time another passenger turns to their friend
and say “Do you think we’ll have time
to see the Statue of Liberty?”
How many tourists have risen before dawn to ride
down to the Big Apple and taste its sweet spots?
We’ll be there in three more hours.
We’ll be in the city that never sleeps
but instead lies there dreaming
clinging to life
kowtowing to the Old Gods
hoping to hell or the outer ring that no more buildings
tumble to the ground
like so many used up bus tickets.

Out of glue radiates our past, splintered thresh
Holds old cursive script exercise book

What I had felt was in the cards
Repetitive diamonds
On their backs an intricate
Wysteria that choked vineyard trellis

Ropes of lilac monopolize
What once was ‘A Shakespeare Garden’ O!
Feelings, you can’t brood more

Darling than a raccoon in collapsing
Estate attic, plenty of Fyodor covers
To entice, opera glasses astrology to imbibe…

And as each moulded double-parlour
Expands inside, ensconces y’know?
Swoon into fainting couch
Then little somebody— evaporate!
Into a spectre, mere perfume
